Airborne Exercise: The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that more than 1,200 airborne troops and more than 250 military equipment participated in the exercise, which will cover the Crimea and Krasnodar regions.In the statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense, it was stated that the exercise will take place under the leadership of Commander of the Airborne Forces, Lieutenant General Andrey Serdyukov, and that “In total, more than 1,200 soldiers and more than 250 military and special equipment participate in the exercise.”
The exercise, which started on December 23 at the Opuk polygon of Crimea, will continue on December 24 with maneuvers at the Rayevskiy range near the city of Novorossiysk.
In the exercise, target practice and mine clearance activities will be carried out with the participation of airborne, artillery, radiation, chemical and biological defense units, and work on the task of protecting army units against air attacks and unmanned aerial vehicles will be carried out. Soldiers will hit targets located at different distances.
It was also stated that during the exercise, an airborne operation from helicopters will be carried out in order to surround the occupied area and ensure the rapid attack of the main forces.
It was previously reported that a new airborne regiment would be established in Crimea.
