YouTube does not provide information about Bitcoin and altcoin bans
Bankless isn’t the only crypto channel to face YouTube bans. Aave founder Stani Kulechov notes that the platform has also banned other educational Web3 accounts, including Gabriel Haines and Optimism PBC:
It seems that @YouTube (@Google) has banned educational web3 accounts on YouTube including @BanklessHQ, @gabrielhaines and @optimismPBC deleting their content and ability to share information with their audiences. We all need to switch to web3 social to keep our freedom of speech

Bankless says the platform did not give him any warning or reason for the ban. Another crypto channel, Haines, confirmed on Twitter that his channel had been removed, saying that the platform had deleted his channel due to “inactivity”, something he denied. All of Haines’ channel content also appears to have been permanently deleted without warning.
Crypto community opposes bans
Many on Twitter reacted to the bans, especially given that it was issued without warning or reason. Users also criticized YouTube’s targeting of educational channels like Bankless. They noted that the platform still allows several other channels that trade crypto-related scams within their limits. The community is now calling for a decentralized alternative to YouTube…
Kulechov, who was recently banned for a tweet and allowed to return to Twitter, decided to create such an alternative. Kulichov recently launched a decentralized alternative to Twitter called Lens Protocol.
